CONTEXT: 

You are looking for:

  • Know how to carry out a PFMEA according to the new AIAG-VDA 1st edition manual, published on 3 June 2019.
  • Have an advanced understanding of the changes, and the benefits this new approach can bring for more robust, complete, and accurate FMEAs.
  • Understand how to transfer your practices from AIAG 4th edition to the new harmonized guide between AIAG and VDA.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand the main changes, improvements and benefits compared with the 4th edition of the AIAG.
  • Understand the 7 steps of the FMEA process.
  • Learn about the new AIAG-VDA rating grids and the new "AP" action priority index. 
  • Develop your transition plan 

 

PREREQUISITES:

To know and practice the PFMEA according to the AIAG 4th edition.

 

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups. 
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

 

TRAINING METHOD:

Trainees identify the gaps between their company's current practices and the new approach and draw up a transition plan to be deployed after the training.

 

TRAINING PROGRAM:

  1. System analysis (planning and preparation, structural analysis, and functional analysis). analysis and functional analysis).
  2. Failure and risk reduction analysis (key concepts, optimization).
  3. The results documentation (FMEA report, effectiveness/efficiency of FMEA).
  4. Customer-supplier collaboration at each step.
  5. Transition steps (timetable, steps to be implemented, implementation strategy).
  6. Conclusion: the key points of the new FMEA AIAG-VDA approach.
