MSY051 - ISO/IEC 17025 - Testing and calibration laboratories: standard requirements

Generic
Onsite, Remote session
2
day(s)

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:

MINIMUM: 4, MAXIMUM: 12

LANGUAGES:

Training materials: English/French
Trainers: 25+ spoken languages by TRIGO trainers over the world

RECOMMANDED FOR:

Test & Laboratory managers and engineers
Quality / QHSE managers and engineers

CONTEXT:

You would like to know the Rules for Automotive Certification (6th edition) published by the IATF, and in particular the you are having difficulties implementing the process approach of ISO 9001 and integrating the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. You need to start the process to determine the measurement uncertainties.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Know how to apply the process approach and build a process map for a laboratory.
  • Understand and master the main requirements of ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Understand the key principles for determining measurement incertitude’s.
  • Develop a plan for compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.

PREREQUISITES:

No prerequisite.

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups.
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with webcam and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

TRAINING METHOD:

We use engaging learning techniques to help trainees learn the methods and tools. Trainees learn the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 by developing a laboratory process map and then identifying, step by step, potential risks and appropriate actions.

The activities teach trainees the different ways of calculating measurement uncertainties. Point by point, trainees identify potential improvements to the actions implemented in their company and build their own action plan.

TRAINING PROGRAM:

  1. ISO/IEC 17025 (function analysis, turtle diagram, risk analysis).
  2. Analysis of customer processes (test requests, customer complaints, etc.)
  3. Analysis of support processes (HR, equipment, purchasing, etc.).
  4. Analysis of management processes (objectives, improvement, measurement and coordination).
  5. Technical requirements and determining uncertainties:
    •    GUM analytical method.
    •    Experimental design method of ISO 5725.
  6. Laboratory audit.

EVALUATION METHOD:

Knowledge test (Multi Choice Questions)

SKILLS VALIDATION:

Training qualification certificate

TRAINING MATERIALS:

Participant folder containing the presentations delivered during the course and the exercise materials. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course.
