CONTEXT:

You are looking to:
Develop robust products by effectively implementing the new FMEA approach in accordance with the 1st edition of the AIAG-VDA harmonized manual of 3 June 2019.
Reduce development times and costs by identifying risks at an early step and define a validation plan that is as accurate as possible.
Strengthen the DFMEA skills of your development teams.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand and know how to apply the FMEA methodology in 7 steps, according to the AIAG-VDA harmonized manual.
  • Know how to prioritize risk reduction actions according to the “AP” index.
  • Know the roles and responsibilities within a DFMEA
  • Identify the key points and pitfalls of the process.
  • Understand the interest of conducting DFMEAs as early as possible in the project and make people want to participate or lead DFMEAs.

 

PREREQUISITES:

No prerequisites.

 

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups. 
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

 

TRAINING METHOD:

Trainees identify FMEA best practice at each major stage of the methodology:
Open training session: discovery and application of a pedagogical case study.
In-house training session: discovery and application on a case study from the company previously selected with TRIGO.

 

TRAINING PROGRAM:

  1. System analysis (steps 1 to 3 combined):
    •  Planning / prioritization / preparation: the 5Ts
    •  Structural and functional analysis (external and internal functions)
  2. Failure analysis and risk reduction.
  3. Documentation / Communication.
  4. Pitfalls and points of vigilance.
  5. DFMEA: a possible method for selecting the product KC.
  6. Sustainability of the DFMEA.

Note: this training does not cover the FMEA-MSR supplement.
