Anyone interested in time studies and work measurement

CONTEXT:

REFA (Reich Committee for Working Time Determinationies) is a German organization designed to create a method to organize and develop the workplace and to determine production cycle times. It was founded in 1924 by the German Engineers Association.

The method focuses both on the determination and evaluation of time data as well as on the optimization of work processes following standardization. REFA generally consists in standardizing production operations and evaluating yield in the case of manual labor.

Generally, when we talk about rationing, we are referring to time, production or staffing norms.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn how to prepare a time study to get real, specific and relevant results.
  • Learn in a practical way to measure, to record and to determine the real cycle time of a production process.
  • Understand how to use a REFA standardized form for production cycle times studies and result validation.
  • Learn how to use cycle time data's, for Capacity Planning, Capacity Verification and to improve a production process earn a proven method for practical implementation in the work environment.

PREREQUISITES:

No prerequisites

TRAINING METHOD:

  • The training is based upon the Experimental Learning Principles (“learning by doing”).
  • The course will be delivered in an interactive manner : all the participants will be involved in the process.
  • The learning content will be transmitted through presentations (the theoretical background) and especially through specific exercises and case studies (related to the professional activity of the participants).
