NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS:

MINIMUM : 3, MAXIMUM : 12

LANGUAGES:

Training materials: English/French
Trainers: 25+ spoken languages by TRIGO trainers all over the world

RECOMMENDED FOR:

Project managers and project team members
Quality Managers & Engineers
Process / Industrialization / Methods / Production Managers & Engineers
Auditors

CONTEXT:

  • Originally developed by Toyota for the automotive sector, the method has more recently been incorporated into the AIAG CQI-24 and SAE J2886 standards, and is also deployed in non-automotive sectors.
  • Projects are often technical changes to a reference product or process. The DRBFM focuses the team's work on reducing the risks associated with the changes. To do this, it brings together all the players involved in the change: Design office / Industrialization / Engineering / Production / Suppliers / Quality / Laboratory, etc.
  • The DRBFM, although formalized and supported by forms, relies on the experience and creativity of the teams.
  • As the DRBFM focuses on changes, it is integrated either directly into the product development cycle, or into the change management process during production.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Know how to lead, conduct and manage a DRBFM, in accordance with the AIAG CQI-24 principles, in order to control the technical risks associated with product/process changes.
  • Understand the advantages of implementing a DRBFM rather than FMEA.
  • Know how to argue with customers for the use of a DRBFM rather than FMEA.
  • Be able to assess the robustness of the application of the DRBFM approach.

PREREQUISITE:

No prerequisite

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups.
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

TRAINING METHOD:

The learning approach combines presentations and role-playing through group exercises or analyses, which are then shared.
Case studies is used to understand the DRBFM approach.

TRAINING PROGRAM:

  • Origin of the DRBFM.
  • The 3 concepts of the DRBFM :
o   Good design: change and remain reliable.
o   Good discussion: respect the design rules and make the changes visible.
o   Good analysis: analyze all weaknesses identified during testing.
  • The DRBFM team.
  • Competencies level 1 to 4 according to the CQI-24.
  • Carrying out the DRBFM according to the 4 steps :
    o   Step 1 : Preparation.
o   Step 2 : identifying the points of change.
    o   Step 3 : Design review.
o   Step 4 : the results and introduction to the DRBTR (Design Review Based on Test Result).
  • DRBFM versus FMEA.
  • DRBFM in non-project activities.

EVALUATION METHOD:

Knowledge test (Multi Choice Questions)

TRAINING MATERIALS:

Participant file containing the training material and exercises. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course
