CONTEXT: 

You are looking to:

  • Develop creativity in your company, and the ability to find innovative ideas by exploring new technological fields to stay ahead of your competitors.
  • Solve complex technological problems quickly by refusing compromise solutions while optimizing company resources.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Understand the 40 inventive principles.
  • Know how to use the contradiction matrix to identify which inventive principles are most likely to be useful in resolving the contradiction.
  • Understand the added value of TRIZ compared to other methods. 
  • Assess the potential use and added value of TRIZ in your company.
  • Learn additional tools in 

 

PREREQUISITES:

No prerequisite.

 

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups. 
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

 

TRAINING METHOD:

The understanding of the approach is acquired through theoretical contributions, examples and practical exercises in sub-groups based on real industrial case studies. During the intersessional period, the trainees apply the approach to a real case from their company. The work is presented on the second day of training.
This training is offered in 2 one-day sessions with a one-month intersession.

  1. Introduction, the origins of TRIZ.
  2. The fundamental principles of TRIZ, the levels of inventiveness.
  3. Introduction to the 4 stages of the methodology.
  4. Stage 1: Documenting the problem: the Innovative Situations Questionnaire (ISQ)
  5. Stage 2: Modelling the problem using functional analysis: useful functions, harmful functions
  6. Stage 3: The search for innovative concepts.
    a.    The 40 principles of innovation: presentation of the principles and examples
    b.    Formulation of technical, physical, and organizational contradictions
    c.    Resolving technical contradictions: the Altshuler matrix and its 39 design parameters
    d.    Resolving physical contradictions: the 11 principles
  7. Stage 4: Choosing solutions
  8. Introduction to tools for overcoming psychological inertia:
    a.    DTC operators (Dimension, Time, Cost)
    b.    The 9 screens
    c.    Miniature men The golden fish
  9. The 8 laws of technical system evolution.
  10. Alternative systems method.
  11. The Vepol modelling system: Substances - Fields analysis, and 76 standard solutions.
  12. The 6 steps towards ideality.
  13. To go further with TRIZ after the training.

TRANINING MATERIALS:

Participant file including presentations delivered during the course and the exercise materials. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course.
