OBJECTIVES: 

  • Understand the benefits and challenges of Six Sigma projects.
  • Understand how the Six Sigma approach can sustainably improve customer and shareholder satisfaction and contribute to the company's strategic results.
  • Identify how Six Sigma can fit in with the company's other improvement initiatives.
  • Discover the roles and contributions of the key players in Six Sigma projects.
  • Identify the first steps in deploying this approach within your organisation.
  • Learn how to promote the Six Sigma approach within your company.

 

PREREQUISITES:

No prerequisite

 

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups. 
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.


TRAINING METHOD:

The principles are taught in an active way and in the form of team work. The pedagogy encourages reflection at management team level, enabling it to make decisions to commit to the Six Sigma approach and potential projects.

  3. A structured and organised approach:
    •    The DMAIC improvement wheel in relation to PDCA.
    •    The objectives of each stage of the wheel.
    •    Understanding data and sources of variation.
  4. The roles and contributions of the new functions:
    •    The role of key players in the process.
    •    How to ramp up the different players involved in a project.
  5. Identifying ambitious projects:
    •    The characteristics of Six Sigma projects.
    •    The different possible approaches for identifying projects.
  6. Promoting the Six Sigma approach to the management team.

TRAINING MATERIALS:

The participant's file, which contains the material presented during the training and the documents for the exercises. Training materials in digital format are made available to trainees a few days before the course.
