CONTEXT:

Automotive suppliers need to understand the specific requirements of VOLVO TRUCKS' customers. They need to know how to align with VOLVO TRUCKS standards, processes and expectations, how to encourage effective communication and collaboration, and how to drive continuous improvement and innovation throughout the supply chain. This module will help you achieve these objectives

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Understanding of relationship between „customer requirements” and „Customer Specific Requirements” 
  • Understanding of VOLVO Trucks expectations, quality standards regarding product performance, reliability, durability, risks and safety  
  • Understanding of VOLVO Trucks’ processes and technical specifications to meet design, manufacturing, quality control and product/service delivery requirements 
  • Learning of VOLVO Trucks’ Compliance, documentation and communication, reporting principles and continuous improvement 

PROVIDING evidence of effective and practical application of deliverables set by VOLVO Trucks  

 

PREREQUISITES:

None

 

SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:

  • Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
  • Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
  • Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
  • Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups. 
  • Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
  • Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.

 

TRAINING METHOD:

  • The requirements of the IATF 16949 Customer-Specific Requirements of the Volvo Group, Supply Partner Quality Assurance Manual, and other customer requirements are analyzed logically and progressively, and and discussed in an interactive way.

  3. Defining customer requirements – sources of data and information – formal documentations , Code of Conduct, Supplier Quality Manual, Customer Specific Requirements  
  4. Requirements in the quotation phase 
  5. Requirements in the Part and Process development phase 
  6. Requirements in the Part and Process approval 
  7. Requirements in the Ramp-up phase 
  8. Requirements in the Mass production phase
