CONTEXT:
Your energy management system has been built or upgraded in accordance with ISO 50001: 2018 and as part of its ongoing improvement you are looking to audit it using your internal resources.
OBJECTIVES:
- Be able to prepare, conduct and close an audit in accordance with the ISO 19011 requirements.
- Be able to use the ISO50001: 2018 standard in the context of internal audit.
- Be able to take account of regulatory requirements and the relevant requirements of interested parties applicable to the company.
- Acquire the methodology and tools needed to conduct an effective and relevant audit.
- Practice preparing and carrying out an audit of an energy management system.
PREREQUISITES:
- Know the ISO 50001: 2018 standard
- Participant must have the ISO 50001:2018 standard documentation, as it is not provided during the training.
SPECIFIC OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR REMOTE SESSIONS:
- Have a PC with a microphone, a webcam and, if possible, a headset for greater comfort. Note: background screens are available on Zoom or Teams to blur or hide the rear view.
- Have a good Internet connection, to be tested before the session.
- Be installed in a quiet, isolated place ; set yourself to “unavailable” status on Teams ; close your email access, and mute your phone, so as not to be disturbed during the session.
- Participants from the same organization should not be grouped together in the same room, but each at his/ her own desk, to avoid any side discussions during the session. Virtual sub-groups will be specially created for the exercises, which will also enable mixed groups.
- Remote qualification/certification exams must be taken with camera and microphone open. We may also need to check that you are alone in the room.
- Please connect 5 minutes before the start of the session.
TRAINING METHOD:
This training includes practical exercises for all phases of the audit: drawing up the audit questionnaire, conducting the auditor/auditee interviews, writing the audit report and conducting the closing meeting.
This training is based on a culture of performance measurement, KPI interpretation and business risk analysis, so that the audit can be used as a real tool for continuous improvement.

• The method for drawing up the audit questionnaire: audit of the steering of continuous improvement, audit of risk management using the Crosby’s turtle.
• Building the audit scenario and questionnaire, taking into account the ISO 50001 requirements and the regulatory requirements (according to the company standards).
• Validation by the trainer before the auditor/auditee interviews. - Auditor behavior
• The auditor’s behavioral qualities.
• Questioning techniques. - Conducting audit interviews
• Carrying out internal audits.

EVALUATION METHOD:
Validation by the trainer of the ability to apply the concepts and tools taught through role-playing.
